He is also CEO of InfoSec People Ltd, a multi-award-winning cyber security recruitment consultancy, and the founder and director of CyNam, the UK’s largest Cyber Cluster focused on cyber tech industry development, innovation, and inclusive talent enablement in Cheltenham and Gloucestershire.


Chris has worked with a number of premier brands including Admiral Insurance, Dixons, Carphone Warehouse, Aviva, The Economist, Vitality, BAE, BT Deloitte, and KPMG.

Richard Starnes is the Chief Cybersecurity Strategist for 6 Degrees, where he is responsible for thought leadership, professionalism and is a trusted advisor to our company’s largest clients. He is a leading international voice in the cybersecurity community with thirty plus years of experience implementing information security management programs, in the US, UK and Europe. He works closely with corporate executives and the board to approach their enterprise information security program requirements from a business risk perspective. He has developed, implemented, and managed the overall cybersecurity security strategy, associated architecture, policies, standards, guidelines, tooling, vendor and third-party management and training and awareness at an enterprise level for numerous FTSE 100 companies.
His contributions to the cyber-security community include being a Liveryperson of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT), where he is also a member of the Security Panel. He is a Fellow of the British Computing Society (BCS). He holds a Master of Science in Information Security from Royal Holloway, University of London, and is a former senior instructor for the (ISC)² CISSP CBK seminar.

Ray has extensive payment card security knowledge, through prior delivery of IT Security consultancy and as a Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Qualified Security Assessor. At Telrock, Ray is responsible for maturing the InfoSec governance framework, maintaining security posture, and delivering a cybersecurity programme in-line with business strategy and the technology roadmap.
