'Cloud Project of the Year' 2014

LONDON, UK. – 28th November, 2014 – Six Degrees, a converged data service provider and Bestival, the four-day summer music festival set on the Isle of Wight have won ‘Cloud Project of the Year’at the 2014 SVC Awards.

The annual SVC Awards recognise the achievements of end-users, channel partners and vendors alike who operate in the cloud, virtualisation and storage sectors. They award products, projects and services, which have influenced and impressed their readers. The awards took place on 27th November at the Montcalm Hotel, London

Six Degrees underpins the Bestival website with its innovative cloud infrastructure. Six Degrees’ solution is a highly available hosting platform and a fully managed backup and disaster recovery solution that operates across geographically diverse locations. Crucially, the solution is fully scalable, which allows Bestival to add additional capacity, as and when required. When it anticipates an influx in traffic, for example when line-ups are announced, Bestival can simply expand its infrastructure to meet additional demand for the website.

The Bestival website is vital when it comes to drawing the crowds to the event. It’s got to be able to perform under pressure when a new act is announced, facilitate ticket sales and seamlessly provide festival goers with the information they need when they are there. This year has been an important year of growth for Bestival and the cloud platform we developed for the website is totally aligned to this. The intelligent, dual site solution is not only resilient, but can be scaled up and down quickly to give Bestival a totally flexible approach to the way it consumes IT.
