Shortlisted at the HFM European Hedge Fund Services Awards

Six Degrees has been shortlisted in the Best Use of Cloud Technology, Best Cyber-Security Service and Best Managed Service Provider categories at the HFM European Hedge Fund Services Awards 2019. This year’s event, which takes place at the Natural History Museum on Thursday 28^th March, will recognise and reward hedge fund service providers that have demonstrated exceptional customer service and innovative product development over the past 12 months. Six Degrees has a strong heritage of delivering mission critical IT services to hedge funds in London and throughout Europe, and we are proud to have been recognised by the judging panel in categories that are significantly disrupting the alternative investment market in 2019.

Best Use of Cloud Technology

The hedge fund industry has moved beyond its initial hesitancy to become an enthusiastic adopter of cloud technology. Firms are recognising the cloud’s potential to enable digital transformation that drives revenue growth, and many are engaging with vertically-aligned managed service providers to help them on that journey. Our Cloud and Managed Services Director James Henigan recently shared his thoughts with ITProPortal on how organisations can begin their multi-cloud journeys.

We bridge skill gaps by supporting hedge funds through design, migration, adoption and support of cloud services, whether it’s our proprietary Enterprise Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS or a multi-cloud environment. This has been enthusiastically adopted by our hedge fund clients, who are looking to reap the benefits of multi-cloud without exposing themselves to unnecessary risk.

Best Cyber-Security Service

Through our acquisition of CNS Group, we are in a unique position to provide hedge funds with managed services, support and consultancy that always have a deep level of security at their very core. Whilst many managed service providers deliver a number of discrete, individual security services, we weave security throughout everything we do.

Our security consultants review our clients’ security postures, and provide roadmapped recommendations for risk mitigation activities. Six Degrees is then able to action these recommendations, delivering a virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) to those clients that do not have the resources in house to champion security activities and report to board level.

Best Managed Service Provider

Over the past 12 months Six Degrees has continued to build its reputation as a leading managed security provider to hedge funds through the development of what we call the Managed Workplace. Managed Workplace delivers end user services to clients that remove the burden of managing and supporting their IT estates. Service Desk, Onsite Support, On-Premise System Support and Management, and Managed Procurement and Service Delivery Management can be delivered either discretely or in combination, allowing clients to utilise their IT expertise to focus on organisational objectives and not business as usual support activity.

HFM European Hedge Fund Services Awards

The HFM European Hedge Fund Services Awards are a great barometer of how the hedge fund industry is engaging with the latest technology, along with the service providers they are working with to facilitate its introduction. Our shortlisting in three categories is testament to the excellent work we continue to do in helping hedge funds gain the maximum advantage from the cloud; we look forward to finding out on 28^th March if we have won in any of our three categories.
