Meet the Executive Team
David is a 25 year veteran of numerous technology industries. Prior to joining Six Degrees he was President of Zayo's International business and a member of the Executive team that grew the company from $80m to $700m of annual EBITDA at industry leading margins; he successfully floated the company on the NYSE in 2014.
Before Zayo, David held a number of senior roles with Level 3 Communications. He served as Senior Vice President of Customer Service Management overseeing customer and network operations for all of Level 3's data, voice and colocation services. He started his telecoms career constructing metro fibre networks and colocation facilities for MFS Communications in Europe and Asia.

Ben is a highly motivated, skilled and experienced Sales and Marketing leader with a broad experience over 20 years’ running Go to Market organisations in Cloud, Hosting and Managed Services.
Prior to joining Six Degrees, Ben held Senior Sales Management roles in Technology Outsourcing such as HP and Fujitsu Services, International GM roles at Colt Technology Services including Vice President of the Cloud and Managed Services division prior to its onward sale, EMEA Head of GTM at the Silicon Valley business start-up Pure Storage, and more recently Managing Director of Sales & Marketing at a Private Equity backed MSP.
Ben lives in West London with his wife and 4 Children, revelling in a busy family life, with most time spent outside of work focusing energies on family time together and enjoying life!

James joined Six Degrees in 2017, bringing over 10 years' experience in the UK cloud service provider industry. Over this time James has gained broad experience and achieved repeated success helping service providers utilise market-leading technology and creating customer-centric service experiences.
Prior to joining Six Degrees James held executive roles in a number of successful cloud service providers spanning both infrastructure and application-based services, helping them achieve double and triple digit growth and coveted market recognition with awards such as Microsoft’s Global Hosting Partner of the Year.
In his role as General Manager, James has responsibility for Six Degrees’ portfolio and strategy, helping Six Degrees develop and differentiate market leading services that help our clients successfully transform and grow their own businesses against the backdrop of a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
Outside of work, James is a keen skier, diver and golfer. He lives in Berkshire with his family.

Matt has over 12 years’ solid industry experience and brings a wealth of product, integration and operational knowledge to Six Degrees. He has held multiple senior strategic positions - ranging from Marketing Director to Service Management - giving a breadth of visibility across multiple facets of a successful business. Most recently prior to joining Six Degrees he oversaw the Wavelengths Product portfolio at at Zayo Group, with P&L ownership of a $300M annualised revenue.
As GM of Six Degrees Network Infrastructure and Cyber Security practice groups, Matt is accountable for ensuring the integrity of the Next Generation Network that underpins Six Degrees connectivity and voice portfolios along with driving the Cyber Security strategy that will safe guard our clients operations.
Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Matt enjoys outdoor activities, with a recently found passion for running in all weather; he has a new found appreciation for sunshine. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and two children exploring London and Europe.

Sarah is a commercially-focused, international business director with a broad career in general management, transformation, complex programmes and service operations; in 2019 She was shortlisted as ‘Transformation Leader of the Year’ by Women in IT.
Her career in technology has spanned the private and public sector, including 10 years at ICL/Fujitsu, 12 years in Equant/Orange Business Services and 2 years as the Commercial Director for technology in The Crown Commercial Service (where she was responsible for a team of approx 100 civil servants procuring over £2.6b pa government technology and delivering a 70% increase in savings).
As Client Experience Director at Six Degrees, Sarah is the owner of the Corporate Net Promoter Score and has a primary focus on the delivery of a brilliant service. She oversees the Client Experience Business Unit which comprises Client Services (Incident Management, Service Management, Change Management, Problem Management and Continuous Service Improvement), Systems and Transformation.
Sarah has lived in Japan and Sri Lanka, and worked extensively in the US, UK and mainland Europe. She is married to John and they have two teenage children. The Hurrells are actively involved in a local church which is passionate about helping the disadvantaged. In their spare time, they enjoy family gym membership and travel.

Liz is a consummate HR professional with over 25 years’ leadership experience across a diverse range of industries in both public and private companies, including Sainsbury, Bhs & John Laing. She has significant experience with both small and large UK and international organisations going through transitional change driven by M&A, organic growth and industry disruption. CIPD qualified, Liz is a true HR generalist with expertise in a number of areas and a particular passion for Organisation Development, Talent Management, Employee Engagement & Leadership Development.
Originally from the Northwest of England, Liz relocated to London in the late 90’s and is proud to say she has managed to hold on to her Northern roots. Outside of work much of her time is dedicated to her family; as a football and performing arts mum she regularly spends many hours on the touchline or in an enthusiastic audience. She also enjoys travelling, with Italy being a favourite destination.

Steve is a qualified accountant (ACA) with extensive experience in the communication sector. Prior to joining Six Degrees, he spent five years at eir, Ireland’s largest telecommunications company, where he held a number of leadership positions including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Strategy Officer and Corporate Finance Director. He was a key member of the executive management team that delivered the turnaround of the business following its restructuring in 2012 – returning eir to growth and doubling the value of the Group.
Before his time at eir, Steve spent ten years at T-Mobile and EE, where he held a number of finance, marketing and commercial leadership roles. As the CFO of Six Degrees, Steve is responsible for the Finance, Legal and Procurement functions.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, even more so now his children are old enough to share his interest in sport and music.
