David is a 25 year veteran of numerous technology industries and Chief Executive Officer of Six Degrees Group. Prior to Six Degrees, David was President of Zayo’s International business and a member of the Executive team that grew the company from $80m to $700m of annual EBITDA at industry leading EBITDA margins, and successfully floated the company on the NYSE in 2014.
Before Zayo, David held a number of senior roles with Level 3 Communications. He served as Senior Vice President of Customer Service Management overseeing customer and network operations for all of Level 3’s data, voice and colocation services. David started his telecoms career constructing metro fibre networks and colocation facilities for MFS Communications in Europe and Asia.
A native Yorkshireman, David has spent the last 16 years in Boulder, Colorado, and has relocated back to the UK with his wife and teenage sons to take up the role of CEO of Six Degrees, which he began in February 2017.
David is a keen cyclist and skier and enjoys active holidays with his family. He has also been actively involved with a charity focused on helping talented children from under-privileged backgrounds get through University with financial and mentoring support.
Steve joined Six Degrees Group in January 2018 and, as Chief Finance Officer, is responsible for the Finance, Legal and Procurement functions.
Prior to joining Six Degrees, Steve spent five years at eir, Ireland’s largest telecommunications company, where he held a number of leadership positions including Chief Financial Officer, Chief Strategy Officer and Corporate Finance Director. At eir, Steve was a key member of the Executive management team that delivered the turnaround of the business following its restructuring in 2012 – returning eir to growth and doubling the value of the Group.
Before his time at eir, Steve spent ten years at T-Mobile and EE, where he held a number of finance, marketing and commercial leadership roles.
Steve is a qualified accountant (ACA)
Outside of work, Steve enjoys spending time with his family… even more so now his children are old enough to share his interest in sport and music.
James joined Six Degrees in 2017 as Cloud Services Director bringing over 10 years' experience in the Cloud service provider industry. James brings with him a broad experience and success in helping service providers deliver market leading technology and service experiences that help customers successfully transform and grow their own businesses. Most recently James helped Microsoft define and launch their global Datacentre Optimisation programme and prior to that held executive positions in a range of UK service providers running technology, product and operations functions. In his role as Cloud Service Director James has responsibility for Six Degrees cloud services portfolio and strategy along with underlying technology and service delivery. Responsible for helping Six Degrees differentiate and grow our market share in the ever-evolving cloud services marketplace. James is a keen skier, diver and golfer in his spare time and lives in Berkshire with his family.
Matt joins Six Degrees as the Group Product Director overseeing the portfolio of Six Degrees Services. Previously working as vice president at Zayo Group, Matt brings a wealth of product, integration and operational experience to Six Degrees.
While at Zayo Group, Matt performed a number of roles ranging from, Marketing to Service Management and Client Support giving a breadth of visibility across multiple facets of a successful business. Most recently he oversaw the Wavelengths Product Group with P&L ownership of a $300M annualized revenue Product.
Matt spends time with his wife and two children exploring London and broader Europe. Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Matt enjoys outdoor activities, with a recently found passion running in all weather, and has a new appreciation for sunshine.
Liz joined 6 degrees in March 2018 and is a consummate HR professional with over 25 years’ experience. She has held a broad range of HR leadership roles across diverse industries including technology, retail and infrastructure investment, in both public and private companies, including Sainsbury, Bhs & John Laing. Liz has experience with both small and large UK and international organisations going through significant change, driven by M&A, organic growth and industry disruption. Liz is CIPD qualified and is a true HR generalist with expertise in a number of areas, however, is particularly passionate about Organisation Development, Talent Management, Employee Engagement & Leadership Development, Originally from the Northwest of England, Liz relocated to London in the late 90’s and is proud to say she has managed to hold on to her Northern roots. Outside of work much of Liz’s time is taken up with her family. As a football and performing arts mum she regularly spends many hours on the touchline or in an enthusiastic audience. She also enjoys travelling, with Italy being a favourite destination.
Kirsty joined 6dg as Director of Finance in 2016, bringing an experience of leading finance functions at corporate brands such as Npower and Compass Group.
Kirsty is a qualified ACMA with a passion for driving improvement in business performance and efficiency. Current initiatives include integrating our most recent acquisitions onto core finance platforms while leading the billing, cash collection, accounts payable, payroll and management accounting functions across 6dg Group.
Outside work, Kirsty is lovingly ploughing hours into refurbishing the house and garden she shares with her husband and two teenage boys in the Midlands.
In his capacity as Commercial Director for Mergers and Acquisitions, Daemonn brings a wealth of industry knowledge to Six Degrees Group. He started his career in technology in Scotland in 1987 as a programmer, however realising that online services were the future, he moved to London to join Telemap who were running an online magazine on Prestel. Here Daemonn had his first experience of M&A when BT acquired Telemap and he managed the technical development of commercial online services onto the BT’s various online platforms.
Daemonn then went on to lead the technical operations of a leading UK Hosting and ISP, Direct Connection, to prepare it for sale to Netscalibur in 2000. At Netscalabur Daemonn integrated further acquisitions into the business before it was bought by Claranet in 2003. From 2004 to 2008, Daemonn was Technical Director at Mistral Internet Group in Brighton. He was a member of the board that grew the business from £5m turnover to £22.2m and integrated seven acquisitions into Mistrals platforms and technical teams. When Mistral was bought by Kcom in 2008, Daemonn oversaw the integration process as Head of Hosting.
Daemonn joined Six Degrees Group at the end of 2015, taking care of P&L for newly acquired companies, delivery of cost savings, cross selling, and planning for the future integration of these companies into the group.
Daemonn is a very keen cyclist and is out on his bike 7 days a week, come rain or shine. In late 2016 he successfully completed a rigorous 400km bike ride in 40 degree heat through Malawi to raise money for WeSeeHope. Amongst all this, he still finds time to volunteer as a Police Officer!
Paul joined Six Degrees Group as Group Sales Director in November 2016 bringing 10 years’ sales management experience in the IT managed services space. He has a strong history of delivering across a diverse mix of verticals and products creating innovative high performing sales teams.
In his most recent role as Head of Sales at Rackspace UK, Paul served the mid-market and SMB customer base. He oversaw the reorganisation and delivery of the UK-based mid-market and acquisition team, lifting revenues from c. £120k MRR per month to over £200k in just 18 months. Prior to this he held sales leadership positions at JT Global and Maxima Managed Services.
In his capacity as Group Sales Director, Paul oversees all sales activity, encompassing legacy and new acquisition teams across the group. He is responsible for increasing Six Degrees’ market share in the mid-market space through wide product spread into the customer base and driving a closer engagement model for customers.
When he gets a spare minute, Paul loves to sail, whether for leisure or competition, go to the gym and spend time with his family at home in Romsey.
Dave has worked in the Telco and MSP industry for 20 years and is an accomplished internationally experienced leader. As Group Operations Director, Dave is responsible for our customers in life experience and support serving all verticals and technologies.
Prior to 6 Degrees, Dave has worked through the ranks and held several senior leadership roles at Colt and Easynet, developing, transforming and creating high performing functions across Europe in Service Transition, Project Management, Service Management and Operations.
Dave is Married with 2 daughters and as an active family, they love the outdoors, whether that be walking in the Peak District, scrambling in Snowdonia or hitting the slopes in the Alps.
Nick joined Six Degrees in August 2017 and is responsible for the Data and Colocation business units. With a career spanning the investment banking and telecommunications industries in North America, Australia and Europe, Nick brings a wealth of investment, integration and operational experience to Six Degrees.
Nick was previously with Zayo Group, where he performed a number of roles ranging from, commercial lead for Europe and sales operations function for 180+ sales employees with an annual budget of $50M+. Most recently he oversaw corporate development for Europe, including the €95M acquisition of Viatel in 2015 and the 2018 acquisition of a data centre on the outskirts of Paris.
Having begun his career in his hometown of Sydney, Nick relocated to the US to earn his MBA at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
Nick played representative rugby for 15 years and the latest success (or otherwise) of the Wallabies can usually be gauged by how visible he is in the Six Degrees office. He is also an avid skier, enthusiastic chef and seasoned visa applicant.
