London – 8 March 2013 – Six Degrees has won the “Inspired CSR” category at TheKnowList Awards 2013.  With over 400 attendees, the event highlighted the innovators and leaders in business strategy and technology.

The new category recognises Six Degrees’ efforts with its CSR programme, Six Degrees of Hope. The initiative sees Six Degrees support HOPEHIV, a London-based charity working to help children and young people in sub-Saharan Africa that have been orphaned or affected by HIV/AIDS. Six Degrees of Hope has just finished its first full year and has already raised over £80,000 for HOPEHIV. In addition, four Six Degrees employees visited projects in Tanzania to see first-hand how the fundraising initiatives have made a profound difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable people on the planet.

Alastair Mills, CEO of Six Degrees comments: “At Six Degrees, our CSR programme sits at the heart of our company culture. Our customers expect us to have outstanding data, hosting and voice services but they also want to work with people they like and respect. Six Degrees of Hope is great for employee engagement and to reinforce the message that business performance isn’t all that counts; who we are and what we stand for matters just as much. Therefore, we’re thrilled and honoured to be the recipient of the Inspired CSR award.”
