We provide integrated managed data services linking people, places and clouds. To do so effectively requires certain key assets and service delivery capabilities.
Core Capabilities
We have 15,000 square feet of datacentre space spread over two locations, which also contain racks of virtualised servers that are the core of our private cloud. Our two datacentre hubs form part of our own MPLS core network – they’re two of ten strategic PoPs linking London, Manchester, Birmingham and New York. We also have local loop unbundling (LLU) assets in four Central London exchanges. Our core network is interconnected with 21 major operators. We have dual-parented resilient voice switches, VoIP gateways and SIP trunk platforms, plus 6 PSTN interconnects to tier 1 operators. Owning these core assets allows us to be extremely flexible about how we build bespoke solutions with the ability to leverage our own network and those of our partners to build layers of resilience into the fabric of those solutions.
Connectivity Capabilities
We use the tail circuits of our network partners to design customised connectivity solutions for IP network access. We can provide Ethernet over fibre or Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) for either standalone Internet access or to build MPLS networks. We use xDSL services at every location for back-up purposes and we even have some customers connecting to our core network via 3G. Finally, we can use the BT Openreach network to provision digital and analogue lines via WLR3.
Overlay Services
It’s not enough to have great core assets and a flexible network to connect to it. It’s essential to build a suite of overlay services that will both take advantage of our assets and add value to them. For our datacentre services we can deliver colocation and managed hosting. With our cloud computing services we deliver Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) from our private cloud and allow cloud enablement for Platform or Software as a Service (PaaS/SaaS) providers. For voice services we use our own network for direct voice services or Carrier Pre Selection (CPS) through our partners. We also provide inbound number translation services (NTS) and non-geographic numbers (NGNs) and our in-house business continuity and disaster recovery service, Livenumber. Finally, our voice services are also available via SIP trunking using our core network for IP voice transit.
